Finally we’ll talk about some of the “must dos” in the day, week and month of a Domino admin.

By Gabriella Davis | 5/16/19 1:25 PM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

I have just returned from Engage UG – Theo Heselmans’ European conference, this year held at Autoworld in Brussels. A beautiful location, even for someone who cares little for cars (but enjoys belgian beer, frites and chocolate).

By Gabriella Davis | 2/7/19 1:53 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

As many of you know, next week is IBM Think in San Francisco. Unfortunately I won’t be able to be there and neither will my fellow Lifetime Champions Julian Robichaux and Theo Heselmans so we wanted to do our own version of “Think” for those of us who are missing out. Starting next week we plan to record a daily 30 minute audio podcast discussing the news coming out of Think and some of the presentations and sponsors that are there.

Engage Week & Lots of News

By Gabriella Davis | 5/24/18 4:25 PM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

This week was the Engage conference held in Rotterdam – the largest and (IMO) best event Theo Heselmans has given us yet. Rotterdam is a lovely city and the water taxi that took us from the restaurant back to the boat last night turned a 5 minute ride into a James Bond chase sequence – at several points he took corners by tilting the boat almost entirely on its side (there goes Tim!) and then onto the other side (bye Mike!) before pulling a handrake turn and reversing up to the dock – worth every cent of four and a half Euro.

Path To A Perfect 10 #perfect10

By Gabriella Davis | 5/10/18 11:38 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by John Oldenburger

Here’s an intro to a new blog series I am starting to hopefully take us all through preparing for v10 of the ICS products due out later this year. If you have suggestions for what you’d find useful outside of the things I mention in the video please let me know. I’ll be using the hashtag #perfect10 for this.

Think Week – With More Than A Little Help From My Friends

By Gabriella Davis | 3/17/18 9:23 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

IBM Think starts tomorrow for me in Las Vegas. So obviously here I am in a LV hotel room drinking lots of water, trying to plan the sessions I want to see, when I’m going to be free and and then sign up for several of the labs. This year as well as my technical sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, I will be moderating and contributing to several “soft skills” sessions that are not about technology but about how we work.

Connections Futures – IBM Connect Review #3

By Gabriella Davis | 3/1/17 4:18 PM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

We interrupt this blog to apologise. Usually I like to sanity check my statements before publishing them but 80%+ of presentations from IBM Connect are missing online. That means my notes are all I have right now.

Connect 2017 Registration – Same Name But Something Very Different

By Gabriella Davis | 10/17/16 1:53 PM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

Today registration has opened for the conference known as Connect 2017. Connect in Orlando wasn’t anything more than a rename of Lotusphere but although this bears the same name it’s very far from being the same event. Connect 2017 is taking place in Moscone West in San Francisco at the end of February but that’s not the biggest change – the content, structure and even pricing is drastically different too.

It’s Cham-peen Time

By Gabriella Davis | 10/15/16 12:32 PM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

The IBM Champion program is once more open for nominations for 2017 Champions. For those of you that don’t know, the Champion program has been set up by IBM to reward and thank people who have established a voice in their community.

Last week in Eindhoven…

By Gabriella Davis | 3/30/16 8:44 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

We were in Eindhoven last week at the Engage conference.. over 400 attendees, speakers and IBM’ers gathered for two days of learning, talking and cleaning out the hotel bar of tonic water.. I’ve been to several of the past Engage conferences and Theo always puts on a great event but this was bigger and better than ever. So why?

Connect 2016 – A Wrap Up

By Gabriella Davis | 2/8/16 10:29 PM | Business - Events / People | Added by John Oldenburger

As I get ready to leave Florida tomorrow I realise that I haven’t blogged since Connect began (for me) on Friday 29th. This was our 21st IBM Orlando conference and like everyone else I was prepared to see it go forever or merge with Las Vegas. That hasn’t happened and I hope after the last two years it won’t.

Say Thank You To Someone

By Gabriella Davis | 9/28/15 8:06 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

I’ve been involved in lots of conversations recently with people wondering how to keep the “IBM Collaboration” community vibrant and alive as we face fewer and fewer meet ups in real life and more diverse technologies. I’ve been working in this Community since the mid 90s and watched it grow off the hard work and selfless contributions of people who just wanted to share ideas and knowledge with each other. Even without as many real life connections, this community thrives on people sharing their time, ideas and knowledge.

Icon UK, Upgrading Connections and Adapting To Technology

By Gabriella Davis | 9/23/15 5:53 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by John Oldenburger

This week I was at Icon UK at IBM’s offices on South Bank and as usual it was a great event as usual. Lots of great content, attendees, speakers and sponsors and it gave me the chance to talk to people I rarely get to see (some I hadn’t seen since January).
