DAOS – JAR files in Java agents

By Ulrich Krause | 1/24/20 12:50 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by John Oldenburger

If DAOS is activated on a database, in addition to the attachments from data documents, the jar files contained in a Java agent are also transferred to the DAOS repository if they exceed the set size. I have been able to reproduce the problem with Domino V11. I started with a freshly installed server, activated DAOS on the server.

By Karsten Lehmann | 1/23/20 11:19 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by John Oldenburger

By Chris Whisonant | 1/23/20 11:08 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by John Oldenburger

Often as an Admin we run into an error such as “database is being taken offline and cannot be opened“. This can be a pain to recover from sometimes, but with a few lines of code you may be able to recover without any server downtime. However, I have even seen times where this might not succeed.

SELinux Support for Domino

By Daniel Nashed | 1/22/20 8:34 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by John Oldenburger

There is a AHA idea to have Domino support SELinux. My impression was that SELinux is already supported with current Domino releases. I asked HCL and it turned out that SELinux is not tested, thus it is currently not supported. It would be extra test effort for every distibution and version to run with SELinux.

Preparing for the Future of OpenNTF

By OpenNTF | 1/21/20 1:22 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

OpenNTF has grown organically for nearly twenty years. In that time, we have accumulated a lot of projects and a lot of entries in our directory. Just as the platform and the types of projects have evolved over that time, so have our members. Usernames are tied tightly to email addresses, meaning if people move company they accumulate logins.

To monitor DirSync output, you can use the server console or the server log.nsf. This in general lets you identify possible errors during DirSync processing. If you need a more verbose output, or you want to dig deeper into DirSync functionallity, use the following notes.ini variable to create some kind of trace mode.
