Building Data Tables using HCL Domino Data and Material Table.

By Heiko Voigt | 8/2/21 2:36 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Handling HCL Domino View Data in a React App can sometime be a struggle due to the complexity of what Domino Views can display. Recently, I came across a great tool that made my life a lot easier on how to build great looking view representations in React.

By Karsten Lehmann | 7/26/21 7:41 AM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

In a pandemic (in particular with two young kids of 5 and 7 years), times flies by even faster than in regular times, so it's no surprise that this blog has not seen many updates for a very long time. Just wanted to let you know that we are still very busy, leveraging and improving the Domino AppDev platform.

Important: In Domino V12 certstore.nsf is the recommended way for TLS/SSL server certificates

By Daniel Nashed | 7/22/21 1:38 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

Domino 12 introduces a new architecture for certificate management that provides improved flexibility, functionality, and security. Due to those enhancements and details in the SNI handling, the older kyr cache can't handle lookups for DNS names. The improved mapping can only work with the new TLS Cache which has been introduced in Domino V12 with many improvements -- the main features are listed below.

K3s efficient and well done Kubernetes test and production ready distribution

By Daniel Nashed | 7/21/21 2:14 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

Last week I looked into different type of Kuberntes (K8s) environments. And finally found out that the one I have been using is the best for my use-cases already! And finally went back to my favorite K3s implementation (https://k3s.io/ ) where everything worked out of the box.

Adding Selenium Browser Tests to My Testcontainers Setup

By Jesse Gallagher | 7/20/21 2:43 PM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Yesterday, I talked about how I dove into Testcontainers for my app-testing needs. Today, I decided to use this to close another bit of long-open business: automated browser testing. I've been very much a dilettante when it comes to that, but we have a handful of browser-ish tests just to make sure the login page, the main page, and some utility pages load up and include expected content, and those can serve as a foundation for much more.

Tinkering With Testcontainers for Domino-based Web Apps

By Jesse Gallagher | 7/20/21 2:43 PM | Development - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

For a while now, I've seen the Testcontainers project hanging around in my periphery. The idea of the project is that it uses Docker to allow you to programmatically load services needed by your automated test suites, rather than having to have the servers running separately. This is a clean match for something like a WAR-based Java webapp that uses, say, Postgres as its backend database: with this, you can spin up a Postgres image from the public repository, fill it with test data, run the suite, and tear it down cleanly.

Room and Resource reservation with HCL Verse on Premises 2.x

By Rainer Brandl | 7/14/21 10:46 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Oliver Busse

Today I had the issue that a customer complained that there´s no option to book rooms or resources within VoP 2.x. After some investigation the reason was found and corrected. If you are using the React form form appointments with the NOTES.INI entry VOP_GK_FEATURE_168=0 you’ll not be able to book rooms or resources within a calendar entry.

“Official answers”

By Roberto Boccadoro | 7/8/21 9:52 AM | Business - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

I often get a request from a customer if I can give them an “official answer” say, to a request if a feature is available or not. For example recently I had such a request whether something that was doable in iNotes was doable also in Verse.

Quick-Tip: Solving a problem enabling the "Alternate From" feature in Mail v12

By Oliver Busse | 7/8/21 7:20 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

We are preparing a demo of all the nice features of Domino 12. When we tried to set up the new "Alternate From Feature" in a Mail-In database, we encountered the following problem "This database is not listed as a Mail-In Database"

Together with Shrikant Jamkhandi and Aniket Salve, both from HCL, I co-authored a whitepaper that covers the installation of the HCL Domino Docker image.

Installing Sametime V11.6 or Traveler V11.x on Linux with a small-sized /tmp volume.

By Remco Angioni | 7/5/21 2:22 AM | Infrastructure - Notes / Domino | Added by Roberto Boccadoro

Sometimes a Linux deployment comes with a too small sized /tmp volume. Normally installers detects this and reports an error and stop the installation. Sametime 11.x and Traveler 11.x only detects it, but continue with the message that the installer is now using /root as their temp folder in order to continue its installation.
