Think 2018 – A new format

By Femke Goedhart | 4/11/18 11:19 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

Two weeks ago I returned from Las Vegas and due to personal circumstances I wasn’t able to post my opinion on the event sooner. So a bit late but here are my two cents on a few days in Las Vegas!

What I am thinking about IBM Think

By Frank van der Linden | 4/5/18 10:59 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

2 weeks ago I have attended IBM Think in Las Vegas. The super conference of IBM by merging all the other conferences, like InterConnect, Edge, Amplify, World Of Watson and Connect/Lotusphere.

IBM Think Presentations

At IBM Think I presented four sessions. Two were on The IBM Champion and Community Day on Sunday. One was titled “Social Zero to Community Hero” with Tony Holder and Alex Ivanov, who was also announced as an IBM Lifetime Champion that afternoon. This detailed what a Champion is and the different paths a champion takes.

IBM Think through Maria’s eyes – although I forgot to bring my sunglasses

I wasn’t going to go to IBM Think. It was not even in my plans. Would this be the year since 2011 I would miss out on that yearly energy boost I normally get from IBM Lotusphere/Connect? The boost that keeps me going with high spirit long and well into the summer.

Run Your Notes Apps on Your Ipad Without Any Development

The conference IBM Think was held in Las Vegas from March 19th to 22nd. Over 30 000 people were there, and the conference covered subjects like collaboration, IBM Connections, blockchain, cloud, encryption and artificial intelligence. As I’m an IBM Champion for ICS I was mostly interested in the portfolio of IBM Collaboration Solutions.

IBM Think Review 3 - Domino App Dev

By Paul Withers | 3/28/18 11:49 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by John Oldenburger

I was fortunate enough to have a number of discussions with various people from IBM and HCL while I was at IBM Think. Some of those were with people I’ve known for a while, like Jason Gary and Barry Rosen, while others were with newer contacts like John Paganetti, Andrew Manby and the (quite new) marketing people.

IBM Think Review 2 - ICS Announcements (Excepting App Dev)

By Paul Withers | 3/28/18 11:45 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by John Oldenburger

There were a host of announcements at IBM Think, some of which I may have missed. But I’ll cover all the ones I did catch here. I will leave Domino app dev for a separate blog post covering everything announced about V10 to date as well as my thoughts about what they mean to all kinds of Domino developers.

IBM Think 2018, my thoughts

By Wannes Rams | 3/27/18 8:03 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

Back from Vegas a couple of days now, adjusted to the time difference and Summer time (almost). Time to reflect on the week I spent at Think. Was it worth it? did I learn new cool things? Did I got reunited with friends I had not seen in a while? Did I meet new friends? But most importantly, did I get the vibe? You know, that sparkle that makes you smile again, the winding up of an old school alarm clock, enough turns to rock a full year, the one that gives you the energy to pull of big projects, take on new things…

Time to reTHINK – Application Design and Modernization for IBM Notes and Domino

By Red Pill Now | 3/27/18 5:42 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

Last Week’s IBM Think conference was very different to recent Lotusphere and Connect conferences for a wide range of reasons. In fact for me, having attended my first Lotusphere back in 2010 (Project Vulcan), this was my first major IBM event in which the star (within the ICS portfolio) was a product named Domino! The message would have been more impactful if the ICS presence had not been such a small part of the Think event itself. For me the major take-away from the event was that Domino was back and we need to start rethinking what that means!

Think! - Back to the Future - SocialShazza

Think is over and man that was full on. To say this conference was massive doesn’t actually do it justice. The show floor and think park took most of the ground floor of the Mandalay Bay conference centre. A wander around the show floor could easily take an hour without stopping by any booths.

IBM Think Review 1: Non-Technical Observations

By Paul Withers | 3/25/18 4:49 PM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

There will be a number of reviews of IBM Think from me, on various topics – gone are the days when there was a very tight narrow focus to my attendance at an IBM conference. But this first post is a review of some of the non-technical aspects of the conference.

IBM Think 2018 Highlights for Developers

By Niklas Heidloff | 3/23/18 11:17 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

Last week IBM hosted the Think 2018 conference in Las Vegas which is IBM’s flagship conference that combines previous conferences like InterConnect and World of Watson. Below is a list of announcements and news that I, as a developer, like most.

A Guide To Single Sign On

By Gabriella Davis | 3/22/18 1:01 PM | Community - Events / People | Added by John Oldenburger

Single sign-on, single identity and even password synchronization—in this session, we will take you through all the options available to minimize or eradicate logins across IBM's Collaboration Solutions (ICS); whether it is a Domino web server, IHS, Notes client, Traveler, Sametime, Connections or Verse, on-premises or cloud.

Congratulations, Paul Withers!

With great pleasure, the OpenNTF board likes to announce the latest achievement of one of our board members, Paul Withers, who was awarded the IBM Lifetime Champion on last Sunday at the IBM Think conference in Las Vegas!

Great Start to IBM Think

By Paul Withers | 3/19/18 4:40 AM | Community - Events / People | Added by Oliver Busse

The IBM Champion and User Group day was a great start to IBM Think with some interesting sessions, although my morning was busy with delivering a session twice with Tony Holder and delivering a Lightning Talk. On behalf of OpenNTF we also launched open badges for user groups to thank them for their support of OpenNTF. More open badges will come in the future as we expand the programme further.
